Kibbutz Givat Brenner- Military Dovecote Conservation

Documentation and Conservation of the military dovecote of Kibbutz Givat Brenner. The structure represents a unique typology that was designed and built in various sites to supply the needs of the carrier pigeons units. With the initiative of the Council for Conservation of Heritage Sites in Israel, the cote was preserved for educational purposes. The conservation principles for the dovecote strove to keep the site intervention as minimal as possible. Two pigeons cages are restored, one for display and the other to grow pigeons.
